🌿 Deen and Dunya – Part 6: Despair – Shaytan’s Weapon, The Path Away from Allah’s Mercy
---
Life is a journey… and every journey comes with many paths. Some paths are easy, some are difficult. But on every path, Allah is present to guide His servants. He is not only the Lord of the righteous and pious, but also the greatest support for the sinners. Again and again, He gives His servants small signs — calling them back to His mercy, to His forgiveness.
But this is the very moment when Shaytan uses his most dangerous weapon: despair.
---
❗Despair: Shaytan’s Strongest Strike
Despair weakens the heart. It distances a person from their Lord, and eventually drags them deeper into sin. That’s why the Qur’an clearly warns:
> “And do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, none despairs of Allah’s mercy except the disbelieving people.”
(Surah Yusuf – 12:87)
Shaytan whispers into the heart:
“You are too sinful. Allah will never forgive you.”
“Allah is angry with you.”
“Your Lord has turned away from you.”
“There’s no way back now…”
But the truth is, Allah’s mercy is so vast that even if the entire creation sinned, it would not reduce His mercy in the slightest.

💧One Tear, One Call — and Allah’s Love Pours Down
It just takes one sincere moment… one heartfelt “Ya Allah”… and your Lord wraps you in His mercy.
For a soul drowning in sin, Allah’s mercy rushes forward like a mother embracing her lost child.

📖 A Divine Promise
> “Say, ‘O My servants who have wronged their own souls! Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Surely Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.’”
(Surah Az-Zumar – 39:53)

🌧️ Story: The Sinner in the Time of Prophet Musa (AS)
During the time of Prophet Musa (AS), a drought struck. People came to him and said,
“Please pray to your Lord for rain.”
Musa (AS) made the du’a, but no rain came.
Then Allah revealed:
“There is a man among you who has been sinning for forty years and has never remembered Me. Rain will not fall until he steps away.”
Musa (AS) announced to the people, “That man should come forward.”
The sinner began to weep in his heart and whispered to Allah:
> “Ya Rabb! I never remembered You all my life. But if I step forward now, people will hate me. Please protect my honor…”
And in that very moment, Allah’s mercy was stirred — and rain began to fall.
Musa (AS) asked, “Ya Allah! The man never came out. Why did You send rain?”
Allah replied:
> “He has now become My friend. I poured rain in response to his call.”
Think about it… A man who sinned for forty years — just one sincere moment of calling to his Lord made him beloved to Allah.

🕊️ Hadith:
> “When a young person repents, Allah removes punishment from between the heavens and the earth and covers him with His mercy.”
(Kanz-ul-Ummal)
---
🌿 So What Should We Do?
Most of us call upon Allah at least five times a day in prayer. Even if we’re heedless in prayer, at some point — daily, weekly, monthly — our hearts do remember Him.
That one moment is enough.
Allah doesn’t mind that you returned to Him after sinning. He says:
> “My servant has come back. Even if he is a sinner — he came to Me… and that’s enough. I will forgive him. I will cover him in My mercy.”
---
⚔️ Shaytan is the Enemy — Ar-Rahman is the Friend
Never forget:
Shaytan is our enemy, and despair is his greatest weapon.
Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful) is our Lord, and His mercy is greater than all sins.
So whenever you sin, return to Allah immediately — make sujood, weep, ask for forgiveness...
Otherwise, Shaytan will use every chance to pull you further away from your Lord.

🤲 A Final Du’a and Reminder
May Allah bless us with the shade of His mercy, protect us from despair, defeat every trick of Shaytan, and make us among those who return to Him sincerely.
As we continue this journey of “Deen and Dunya Saath Saath,” let’s keep learning the small secrets that bring us closer to our Lord, and push Shaytan out of our lives — for good.
